I've owned the 320GB version of this drive for many months and was so happy with its performance and reliability that I recently bought the 400GB version, too. Shaped like an iPhone/iPod Touch, this 400GB portable drive gives solid performance for its class and is extremely easy to use -- and offers tons of on-the-go storage. A good companion for today's laptops with their 250+ GB internal drives.

I love this Drive!

My boyfriend gave me one of these wonderful drives for Christmas. It is tiny (about the size of a 3x5 index card) and ready to go out of the box. My PC and laptop both recognized it immediately, now it is so much easier to transfer large files between the two.
The DVD player connected to our TV has a USB Port and we plugged this drive into it -- just to see if the DVD player would recognize it. It did! Now, we are able to listen to MP3's straight off this harddrive on our home theatre system. I really love this drive!

Change Format to NTFS

The HD comes with FAT32 format and to accept files larger than 2GB will be changing the format to NTFS, change is simple and very useful

The Toshiba 400 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive is the latest release from Toshiba in this series of compact portable drives. This drive, which is the top of this particular series, comes packaged with plug and play software enabling even the novice (as in the case of this reviewer)to be up and operating within five minutes of installation.
Well designed and constructed and with the usual Toshiba manufacturing reliabilty.
