This is a great combination lamp/magnifier, either for crafters or for those whose vision needs enhancement to read.
It is easy to put together and fairly sturdy... not the sturdiest, but for the price it is terrific.

I bought this lamp for my great aunt and she cannot stop talking about it! She loves it for reading, crossword puzzles and her favorite hobby: needlepoint. It has a plug-in adaptor, but it also runs on batteries, so she can take it from the den to the bedroom to read at night. It's super bright and she can adjust it to whatever height she needs it.
