« Really pleased with GPS! »
Well I will start by saying that I have never owned another GPS but I did ALOT of research prior to my purchase. I bought my GPS when it was on sale and got a killer deal on it only problem I had (and the reason why I didnt give it 5 stars) was the SD card slot didnt work when I received it. I contacted Amazon and exsplained I just wanted to return for another one but it was no longer made so they couldn't replace it BUT would give me a complete refund(one of the countless reasons I would never shop anywhere else) I decided with the excellent deal I got from the purchase it would be foolish to return it and have to pay a hundred dollars more at least to replace it with another unit with the same features. I am very happy other than the SD card reader and have told everyone who ask what a great deal I got on it and everything I have bought from Amazon.com.

    « Just what I Ordered »
The Magellan Maestro 4250 does everything it says it will do, and does it well. I did a lot of research before buying this one, and I feel like it's comparable to the Garmins that are over $100 more expensive than this unit. I have read reviews that claim that the Garmin routing is a bit more intelligent in side by side comparisons. My suggestion, if you're going to use a GPS everyday to get you to places you've never been before, than spend a lot more, get a top-of-the-line Garmin. But if you're just looking for something to get you to your vacation destination, and you don't want to spend $400, than this GPS will certainly serve you well.

    « Happy Magellan Customer »
I own 4 Magellan GPS units. Each is a different model and I like them all. I especially like my Maestro 4250,It has all the features I could want and
I like telling it what to do and it does it.

    « Price is right »
I'm pleased with my purchase so far, however, and for the price, it's great.

    First the good;
The voice instructions are clear and easy to understand.
The screen is easy to see.
    The price was right.
Map overview of travel is particularly helpful.
Gives plenty of advance notice about pending turns and dings when action is required.

Confusing issue: Gives distance to POI exits without explaining what the distance is for, at least that's what we think it's giving...

    The bad:
Maps aren't really up to date
Doesn't automatically recalculate its position when turned off and on.
Navigation between screens is not very intuitive after leaving the trip screens and trying to return to the same screen.

    « Magellan 4250 GPS »
I have not had my GPS long enough to have used it. I have only played with it so I could get use to how it works. However, as I play with it and practiced on it I realize that it does everything I want it to do.
